The Full Story

British singer-songwriter, producer, author, educator and charity founder Nathan Timothy has released seven solo albums, written and produced more than 3,000 songs, and amassed over four million streams. In 2016, he received the Ivor Novello Gold Badge Award in recognition of his contribution to music.

His career has spanned recording, live performance, education, sport and creative leadership. Nathan managed and sang with the professional function band Take 5, while also developing his work as a songwriter, performer and producer.

​

Before moving fully into music and charitable work, Nathan built a career in primary education as a teacher, Creative Arts Manager and Sports Specialist. His sporting background included competing as a Welsh junior international hurdler, becoming Welsh Indoor Champion in 1991, and training alongside world-record holder and world champion Colin Jackson.

In November 2005, Nathan founded Bully Beat, a songwriting initiative designed to help children explore bullying, confidence, self-expression and emotional wellbeing through music. This work later helped lead to the founding of The Songwriting Charity, through which he has continued to use songwriting to support children and young people.

His wider creative output also includes four original musical comedies for children and two published books.

Across music, education, sport and writing, Nathan’s work is united by a belief in creativity as a powerful force for connection, confidence and positive change.
